More than 1 billion children in the world are deprived of at least one of their rights in education, water and sanitation, access to information, essential health care, nutrition and shelter. UNICEF, The State of the World’s Children, 2010 Report

We are helping today’s youth to become tomorrow’s leaders by building their self-esteem and inspiring them to reach their full potential.

In addition to promoting the all-round development of youth, our focus has been on providing programmes for minority groups and encouraging volunteerism among young people, their family members and the physically challenged.

Youth Outreach – Leadership for Life

During the year, we joined Youth Outreach to launch the Adventure-Based Counselling (“ABC”) project — Melco Youth Outreach – Leadership for Life — which enabled 150 deprived youths to know more about ABC over a 10-month period. Some of the participants acquired professional ABC qualifications, and 900 young people learned positive life values.

"I am very thankful to the training crew for their mentoring and arrangements, and also to this programme which has made us — a group of youngsters — braver in taking on challenges and facing life." Amy, age 21

Against Child Abuse – Creating Harmony for Families of Ethnic Minorities
We partnered with Against Child Abuse in 2011 to organise the Creating Harmony for Families of Ethnic Minorities project. Designed to promote harmonious parent-child relationships in ethnic minority families, the project offered a series of skill enhancement workshops to help families integrate with the local community. The project was a resounding success, benefiting nearly 300 children and parents.

Hong Kong PHAB Association – “Love Your Family” Volunteer Scheme
This scheme has succeeded in enhancing family cohesion and resilience and recognising youths with disabilities. About 700 senior citizens, disabled people and physically challenged youth volunteers participated in the scheme.
